Old police uniforms are being turned into children’s clothing to help bridge the communication gap between local communities and police officers in Western Australia’s Mid West.

A similar program is run in Queensland and local officers thought it would work well in WA.

The old uniforms are collected in Geraldton and sent to Queensland where Yvonne Pattinson, who is the mother of a police officer, turns them into children’s clothing and sends them back to WA.
