Uniforms 4 Kids (U4K) was the special guest at a recent Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific’s regular Thursday evening dinner gathering at the Caloundra Golf Club.

U4K coordinator Anne Macdonald showed the members examples of unique and attractive clothing our volunteer sewers repurpose from uniforms donated by our partners: Australia Zoo; Australian Border Force; Australian Federal Police; Queensland Police and Queensland Fire & Emergency Services.

“We are possibly one of the few charities not asking you for money,” Anne said.

“What we need is more volunteer sewers.”

Even so, the president Brian Reith and members voted unanimously to donate $500 for cotton, elastic and other haberdashery the sewers could use to make skirts, pants, shorts, dresses and school bags for primary school-aged children.
