what we do

Our aim is to provide:

  • unique clothing to children who have a need no matter who or where they are
  • pathways for children to understand the importance of respecting our natural environment, flora and fauna
  • opportunities for law enforcement and emergency services organisations to build legitimacy and trust
  • the chance for retirees and other community members to support a charitable program, build social cohesion and expand their social networks
  • opportunities for uniforms to continue to protect and serve our community and reduce waste.

The following partners have pledged their support and commitment to the U4K program by continuing to donate their old uniforms:

  • Australian Federal Police
  • Queensland Police Service
  • Australian Border Force
  • Australia Zoo
  • Ambulance Victoria
  • Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services
  • Queensland Ambulance Service
  • Queensland Fire and Emergency Services
  • Royal Flying Doctor Service
  • South Australia Police.

All our clothes are unique. There is no limit to the imagination and skills of our volunteers. Uniforms 4 Kids innovative program repurposes donated law enforcement, emergency services and Australia Zoo uniforms, which would have otherwise been disposed of, into beautiful clothes for children who have a need no matter who they are or where they are located.

This is an opportunity for frontline officers, other emergency services personnel and wildlife officers to connect with children and families in ways that they are not usually able to do. In turn this creates a broad trust relationship that serves to engage with and protect children and their families.

These clothes are distributed through our partners directly or through any organisation, charity or group that assists and supports children who would benefit from the provision of these clothing items. To date more than 30,000 items of clothing have been provided to charities, domestic violence shelters, remote communities, and other approved recipients.
